Horizon HT-30 - The Robot Trimmer Arrives
The Horizon HT-30 On Demand Trimmer - The innovative HT-30 three-side trimmer performs book feeding, trimming, and stacking with full automation. You simply place a stack of books on the in-feed table. A suction feed system brings the books into position, where they are gripped by a robotic arm which advances the block for downstream processing. The HT-30 can run unattended once it is setup and started, so the operator is free to perform book binding or other tasks. The new HT-30 three-side trimmer trims three sides of a book with a single knife. A pressure clamp holds and rotates the books for sequential top, fore-edge, and bottom trimming. The operator simply inputs untrimmed and trimmed book size at the touch-screen. The HT-30 then performs all necessary setups automatically, and transports and trims each book. Precise servo motors are employed for knife positioning to insure high quality trimming. The servo controlled hydraulic unit adjusts pressure automatically for markless trimming. If the book dimensions are same, the HT-30 can trim books of different thickness continuously. Maximum trim thickness is 51 mm (2.0"). Powerful Trimming Knife operation and book clamping are hydraulic controlled for safe and powerful trimming.

Horizon HT-101 - A fully automated three-knife trimmer, with a color touch-screen control console.
The large color LCD screen provides for simple and easy operation. All necessary settings can be performed through the icon-based touchscreen. If the system has an error, the error type and location are indicated on the color LCD for quick resolution. The in-feed section is equipped with a pressing unit that compresses the books to remove air for reduced bulk and accurate trimming. The height of each knife and the angle of the foreedge knife can be adjusted through the color LCD screen during operation. Trimmings are blown away from the knife by strong air blowers mounted on the knife holders. Bound books are transported into the stack orientator to accumulate a predetermined number of books for trimming in the HT-101.

Challenge CMT 330 - Designed for the on-demand printing enviroment!
The CMT 330 is a three-side trimmer designed for the on-demand printing environment. It features full digital control of the trimming process - servomotors control all adjustments normally done by hand with a traditional trimmer. Just key in the starting size and the finish size, and the trimmer takes it from there. The control panel features a graphic LCD display of the job being trimmed. For repeat jobs, the CMT 330 can store 99 book trimming jobs in its memory. It can be used in line with perfect binders, or used off-line in a manual feed mode.
